A real-time T-rail system for monitoring rail conditions is being created in Belarus, the IBA Group project developer reports. The IoT system will increase railway safety, reduce the number of unforeseen repairs and downtime – in the end, this will reduce financial losses.
T-rail consists of wireless sensors (they are combined into a single network), which are mounted on rail lashes, and a software platform. Sensors monitor the temperature of the rail and transmit information to the control system. Next, T-rail processes all the data and visualizes them.
If a critical temperature is noticed somewhere and there is a risk of deformation (due to the rails being compressed and expanding), the system will send notifications to distance track employees and maintenance personnel.
T-rail trial operation will take place at a training ground in Belarus. In addition to our country, the development of IBA Group interested in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
