Reuters: Samsung turns China mobile phone production down

According to Reuters, Samsung decided to stop the production of its mobile phones in China.

Why

One of the main reasons for this decision is the low demand for devices from the Korean manufacturer and strong competition from local companies. According to recent studies, Samsung’s share of China’s smartphone market has declined due to Xiaomi and Huawei to 1%. For comparison, in 2013 this indicator was at the level of 13%.

Despite this decision, the company will continue to sell its devices in the Middle Kingdom. Just now their production will be transferred to India and Vietnam.

Recall, Samsung is still the leader in the global smartphone market. This year, Huawei tried to get ahead of it, but because of US sanctions, the Chinese manufacturer has not succeeded so far.
