The game of the Call of Duty universe for mobile devices focuses on the multiplayer mode, which is familiar to all fans of the series. If suddenly you were hibernated for the last decade and recently left it, then CoD is a first-person military shooter with most modes for team multiplayer.

In the Call of Duty franchise, the two most successful series can be noted – these are Modern Warfare and Black Ops. The release for mobile platforms includes all the most popular modes, maps and weapons from all the games of the universe.

What’s new in CoD: Mobile?

Game process

Before the public release of CoD: Mobile, Activision publisher conducted closed beta testing in certain parts of the world. Of the shortcomings, you can voice the lack of support for Bluetooth-gamepads. I hope the developers will pay attention to the popularity of Fortnite and remember about the official support for the PS4 and Xbox One controllers in iOS 13.

Since the “battle royale” mode is currently at its peak, the release of CoD: Mobile is no exception. Details of the battle royale mode from the press release:

  • Matchmaking for 1, 2 or 4 players
  • On the map up to 100 opponents
  • At the start, a choice of six classes, each with its own abilities and skills
  • In this mode, you can play from the third or first person, you will need to decide before the start of the match
  • The map of the "royal regime" is made from the familiar karst of the Call of Duty universe

Control system

Playing a multiplayer first-person shooter on the touch screen is not an easy task. Often, numerous on-screen controls impede a comfortable game. Call of Duty: Mobile will have two control modes: simple and advanced.

If I may say so, then this is a big step away from the usual gameplay. Auto-shooting replaced the firing button, your weapon starts firing as soon as the enemy hits the sight. At first it sounds like an advantage, but in fact accuracy decreases and increases the consumption of ammunition.

The advantage is more free movement and quick inspection of the territory, without worrying about additional clicking on the screen at a time when you need to shoot at the enemy.

In this mode, the game offers more console sensations. Activision decided that the controls should be movable and that’s great. Almost any part of the interface can be moved so that you can get the most necessary buttons right under your fingers.

Battle royale

As I mentioned above, the “battle royale” mode is very popular among players and Call of Duty: Mobile has its own analogue. Considering that Black Ops 4 already has a battle royale mode called Blackout, CoD: Mobile developers will bring something new and exclusive specifically for the mobile release.

The publisher shared the details that the map for 100 players is made of a dozen well-known and popular cards such as Crash, Nuketown and Hijack. It seems that we will be able to move between familiar locations on four modes of transport. An interesting feature will be the ability to select a class, each of which has a unique ability and perk.

What cards are waiting for us

If you have ever played Call of Duty, then you will be familiar with some of the cards Activision has prepared for us at CoD Mobile. The list of my personal preferences is headed by Nuketown – an ideal location for quick and fierce battles.

To launch, the developers announced eight cards, covering all the most popular franchise series. In this list, I would like to see several exclusive locations created specifically for the mobile version. Among those already announced at the start will be available: Nuketown, Hijack, Crash and Firing Range.

Details

One of the key features of Call of Duty games was the ability to tune your character’s inventory, which allows you to save up to five different combinations of weapons, perks and grenades. Let’s see what with user settings in CoD Mobile.

This may seem pretty obvious, but it’s worth mentioning that throughout the game you can switch between different types of guns, for this there is a main and additional slots. In addition, for all types of weapons, additional modifications are available, such as sights, silencers, flame arresters and more. Also, all players have special slots for grenades, various types of which are used to cause damage or for tactical tasks.

Perks are additional character abilities that can affect the outcome of a match. Basically, they are all passive and increase certain characteristics. An example is the Ghost perk, which hides you from an enemy drone.

Each player has the opportunity to use a special skill that activates by cooldown (after a certain period of time). As a skill, you can use various powerful weapons. Most likely you will be able to use this skill only a few times, so use them sparingly.
